I. Why “Invisible Factories” Are the Hardest to Trust

The five questions we’re asked most often are:

Are there repeated charges for prototyping? If we make three, five, or ten revisions to the design, do we have to pay the prototyping fee each time?

Will the mass-produced items be the same as the samples? The samples feel great to the touch—will the mass-produced items end up thinner, have an off smell, or have a dull color?

Can I track the delivery schedule? With large orders spanning dozens of days, is production actually underway, and if so, at which stage is it stuck?

Who is responsible for certifications and after-sales service? If reports are required for product listing or there are compliance requirements in the destination country, who do I contact if problems arise?

What happens after the first order? Once sales pick up and you want to iterate, add features, or change the packaging, will someone still be there to handle it?

This article isn’t about “how great we are.” Instead, it takes you through the entire factory process from start to finish: from the moment the first inquiry comes in, to when you receive the goods, to the start of the second order—who handles each step, where bottlenecks might occur, and where we’ll cover your back.

III. Second Station | Customer Communication: From "I want a mouse pad" to an executable requirements list

Step 1—Discussing Your Needs.

Most customers start by saying, “I want a mouse pad.” This statement alone isn’t enough to send the product to the production line, as it lacks six key parameters. We’ll work with you to fill out this checklist item by item:

Dimension

Items to Confirm

The items that need to be confirmed

Design

Artwork files, resolution, bleed, logo placement

If the artwork doesn't meet the standards, there will definitely be problems with the printing later on.

Material

Fabric + Base Material Combination (with over 20 surface materials to choose from)

Differences in texture, smoothness, and cost all stem from this.

Thickness

Commonly available in 2mm / 3mm / 4mm and other specifications.

Factors affecting the difficulty of edge banding, the risk of curling, shipping weight, and other aspects

Size

Length × Width

Factors Affecting Material Utilization and Unit Cost

Function

Does it include additional features such as wireless charging, heating, RGB lighting, or magnetic attachment

Functional modules may alter the internal structure and scope of certification.

Packaging

Flat-pack, roll packaging, color box, tag, instruction card……

This directly affects the cost per unit and the unboxing experience

Once the communication is complete, you will receive a requirements list detailing the materials, thickness, dimensions, functions, packaging, quantity, delivery date, and unit price structure. This list serves as the starting point for all subsequent processes.

IV. Third Step | Design Finalization and Mold Making: Turning the Design into a Product Ready for Production

This is the second step (design confirmation) and the third step (mold development) of the official process.

What does design confirmation do? Your design looks great on the screen, but the production line only cares about "can it be printed and will it be cut off during the process". This step needs to handle several things: convert the design into a color file suitable for printing; confirm the margin between the pattern and the cutting lines; check if there are any parts that exceed the processing capabilities; confirm the color variations on different materials. After we make the revisions, we will send the confirmed version back to you. The version you sign and confirm is the sole standard for all subsequent processes.

What does mold development do? The shapes of mouse pads are mostly not "cut" but "pressed" out. Pressing requires a die. The die is a knife-shaped plate made according to the outer contour of your pad. Simply put, it's a pre-shaped "cookie mold". After pressing once, it will come out in the desired shape, and the 1st piece and the 10,000th piece will be exactly the same. Standard rectangular sizes can usually be directly used with existing molds; for irregular shapes, rounded corners, holes, or special sizes, a dedicated mold is required for production.

What does this mean for you: Shapes can be replicated without being too flat or too round; mold production is a one-time investment, and the same mold can be reused for reorders, which is precisely the physical basis for our commitment to "the final product being the same as the sample"; the mold also determines the alignment reference for printing.

V. Four Step | Prototyping: The Sample Is the Only Standard

Once the sample is ready, we don’t just send it to you and call it a day—we do three things simultaneously:

We ship the physical sample so you can feel its texture, check the color, and test how it slides on your own desk.

We document all the sample’s specifications: material, thickness (measured), dimensions (measured), weight per unit area, color code, edge finishing method, and packaging format.

Sample Sealing and Confirmation: Once you are satisfied, this sample is sealed and archived to serve as the benchmark for comparing the production run.

The purpose of sealing the sample is to ensure that “conforming to the sample” is backed by a physical reference; otherwise, both parties’ interpretations of “close enough” could differ significantly. After the sample is sealed, the mass production batch will be compared item by item against the sealed sample: color difference, thickness, edge-binding density, and anti-slip texture. This is also the basis for our commitment that “the sample and mass production batch are 1:1 identical”—both are produced using the same set of molds, the same production line, and the same set of standards.

VI. Five Step| Raw Material Receiving and Mass Production: A Tour of the Workshop to See How a Mouse Pad Is Made

弘诚首页_13

Production Process

First, list out the complete official 10-step process in full:

1. Demand communication → 2. Design confirmation → 3. Mold development → 4. Raw material storage → 5. Mold testing → 6. Sample inspection → 7. Product mass production → 8. Product inspection → 9. Product packaging → 10. Finished product shipment

6.1 Raw materials entering the warehouse: The "base" of the pad determines whether it can be used for three years.

A mouse pad is essentially a composite of fabric and a base material.

The base material determines slip resistance, flatness, and odor: Natural rubber offers good elasticity, strong grip, and is relatively eco-friendly; it is processed using a high-temperature hot-pressing system, and this has been the focus of our work for over a decade; Eco-friendly PU and leather surfaces are easy to clean and have a premium texture, making them commonly used for desk mats; silicone is soft and heat-resistant, suitable for products with a three-dimensional feel, such as wrist rests, though it is relatively expensive; PVC foam is lightweight, inexpensive, and provides a sense of thickness, but requires stricter control over odor and environmental standards.

The fabric determines the feel, smoothness, and print quality: Jiaji fabric has a fine, even texture and a soft, smooth feel; nylon fabric is denser, smoother, and more abrasion-resistant, making it suitable for gaming mats designed for speed; polyester fiber offers the best compatibility with dye-sublimation printing and delivers outstanding color reproduction, making it the standard choice for products with custom designs.

What We Do When Raw Materials Arrive: We verify the batch number of incoming materials, inspect their appearance and odor, and retain samples according to standards. Many final quality issues stem from the raw material batch itself, not from workshop operations.

6.2 Surface Treatment and Printing: How the Design “Grows” Into the Pillow

Dye-sublimation transfer (the mainstream method for fabric pillows). First, the design is printed using specialized ink and transfer paper; then, through heat and pressure, the solid dye vaporizes and permeates deep into the fabric fibers, where it solidifies again upon cooling. Simply put, the design isn’t just printed on the surface—it “seeps” into the fabric and becomes part of it. This makes it resistant to cracking or peeling off in large patches, and allows for photo-quality colors and gradients. The limitations are clear, however: this method is primarily suited for polyester fabrics; the dye is semi-transparent, so it has limited expressiveness on dark backgrounds, and pure white cannot be printed directly.

Screen printing (suitable for large areas of solid color and logos). A stencil is created for the design, and ink is scraped through the mesh onto the fabric. Colors are saturated, color blocks are rich, and the print is scratch-resistant; however, each additional color requires an extra stencil, making multi-color gradients costly, and the precision of fine details is not as high as with digital methods.

Digital Direct-to-Fabric Printing (suitable for prototyping and small-batch intricate designs). The printhead sprays ink directly onto the fabric surface based on a digital file. Setup is simple, designs are detailed, and white ink can be used; however, the ink primarily remains on the surface, so its durability against prolonged friction is generally inferior to the other two methods, and the process is slower.

What this means for you: For complex full-color designs (illustrations, photos, gradients), sublimation transfer is usually the top choice; for minimalist designs featuring large color blocks and a brand logo, screen printing may be more cost-effective; for small order quantities, multiple colors, or when you’re still testing the market, digital direct-to-garment printing allows you to run an initial batch at a low cost.

6.3 Hot-Press Laminating: Bonding the Fabric Upper and Rubber Outsole into a Single Unit

In simple terms, hot-press laminating involves bonding the fabric upper and rubber outsole into a single piece under high temperature and pressure, eliminating any “seams” between the two layers. After the fabric, outsole (and sometimes an intermediate reinforcement layer) are stacked, they undergo hot-pressing; the rubber layer softens and cross-links, fusing with the back of the fabric to form a single unit.

Why It’s Important: If the lamination is not secure, the mat will separate into two layers, develop bulges in the middle, or curl at the edges over time. If pressure is applied unevenly, the mat will “remember” that uneven shape. The most immediate judgment customers make upon receiving the product is whether it is “flat or not, curled or not.” Mats that curl at the edges are more likely to result in returns and negative reviews. This is also why we insist on completing the entire process in-house: standards are consistent across all production stages.

6.4 Cutting and Shaping: This is where fraying originates

Die-cutting: The shape is stamped out in a single pass using a die, offering high efficiency and excellent consistency; this is the primary method for standard mouse pads. However, if the fabric is woven and the cutting edge is not sharp enough, the edges may still fray. Laser Cutting: The material is cut along a digital path using a laser. This method requires no mold and is suitable for irregular shapes, small batches, and prototyping; the cut edges can be automatically sealed, and precision is high. The drawbacks are that it is less efficient than die-cutting, making it uneconomical for large-volume production, and certain materials may exhibit slight scorch marks or odors along the edges, requiring post-processing.

What This Means for You: The more irregular the shape, the more likely laser cutting will be used; for mass production of standard sizes, die-cutting is more suitable. This directly affects the unit cost and the risk of fraying.

6.5 Edge Seaming / Edge Wrapping: Why do some cushions develop loose edges over time?

After cutting, the edges of the cushion are in a "broken" state: the fabric fibers are cut, and the surface and bottom seams are exposed. The shear forces generated from daily sliding, moving, and wiping all converge on this weak edge. Cushions without edge sealing tend to develop frayed edges, curled corners, and delamination after long-term and frequent use, especially in small-sized and high-frequency usage scenarios; the specific lifespan depends on the usage intensity, the material of the tabletop, and the daily cleaning method.

Edge sealing (edge wrapping) is the process of covering and reinforcing the edges with stitches or heat pressing, allowing the surface and the bottom to interlock at the edges. It is not for decoration, but a structural engineering measure: preventing fibers from spreading, preventing layer separation, and preventing edge curling. Whether it is done well depends on the type of stitch, the density of the stitch spacing, the thickness of the stitch, and the width of the edge wrapping - if the wrapping is too tight, it will cause wrinkles; if it is too loose, it will become loose. It is the least noticeable step, but it requires the most experience.

6.6 Anti-slip Texture: Will the mat "slide" on the table?

The natural rubber foam base creates a dense network of air pockets inside the rubber through the foaming process, providing both elasticity and friction. Simply put, it acts like a “memory foam”—when pressed against a desk surface, it “sticks” slightly, preventing the mouse pad from sliding along with the mouse. The dot-patterned or diamond-shaped anti-slip texture features regular raised dots or a grid pattern on the bottom to increase the coefficient of friction with the desk surface; if the texture is too dense or too shallow, grip will decrease. “Non-slip” is a frequently mentioned keyword in reviews, and it’s also the feature most often sacrificed when cutting costs.

VII. Sixth Step | Quality Inspection: Three Checkpoints from Raw Materials to Finished Products

Let’s be clear about certifications: Standard products all come with third-party test reports, and custom products can be provided with the corresponding certifications based on the destination country’s requirements. Certificates include BSCI, CE, FCC, RoHS, REACH, ISO 9001, GRS, and formaldehyde compliance. We’ll work with you during the order placement stage to determine exactly which reports you need for listing and which destination country’s requirements to follow—the sooner we handle this, the less likely we’ll run into delays right before shipment.

2.Rubber refine

First checkpoint: Raw materials

Verify incoming batches, inspect appearance and odor, and retain samples according to standards. If the raw materials are inconsistent, all subsequent efforts will be in vain.

锁边车边

Second: Process Control

Mold testing → Sample testing → In-process inspections during mass production. Parameters such as hot-press temperature and pressure, seam stitching pitch, and die-cutting alignment are continuously verified throughout the production run—not just checked once at startup.

9.Inspection

Third: Finished Product Control

Finished Product Control. Random sampling by batch and item-by-item comparison against the master sample. Batches that pass proceed to packaging.

VIII. Six Step | Packaging and Shipping: Delivering Your Goods Safely to You

Packaging. It directly affects the shipping damage rate and the unboxing experience. Common methods include flat packing, roll packing, color boxes, hang tags, and instruction cards—all of which can be customized. Roll packing reduces volume and lowers shipping costs, but requires the product to retain its shape after compression; flat packing ensures the product lies flat upon unboxing, but results in larger package volume. We’ll determine the best approach based on your distribution channels (FBA warehousing, direct shipping from your own website, or live-stream shipping).

Shipping. We conduct a final check before shipment: quantity, style, packaging version, outer box labels, and box specifications. After packing, we take photos for record-keeping and send them to you for confirmation before arranging shipment. We offer a 7–15-day lead time and a daily production capacity of 100,000 units. Our products are sold in 65 countries worldwide, so we can help you avoid pitfalls regarding packaging labels and shipping requirements in different destination countries.

Transparent Progress. We provide one-on-one order tracking, with photos taken and shared at every stage—“material preparation, production line setup, assembly, packaging, and inspection”—available on demand with immediate feedback. You won’t need to “chase” for updates; you’ll automatically receive photos as each stage is completed.

VIII. Seventh Step | Packaging and Shipping: Safely delivering the goods to you

Packaging. It directly affects the rate of transportation damage and the unpacking experience. Common methods include flat packing, roll packaging, display cases, tags, and instruction cards, all of which fall within the customization scope. Roll packaging can compress volume and reduce shipping costs, but it requires rebound recovery; flat packing is flat when unpacked, but has a large volume. We will determine together based on your channel (FBA warehousing, independent website direct shipping, live streaming shipping).

Shipment. Before shipment, we will double-check: quantity, style, packaging version, outer box label, box specifications; take photos after packing for archiving, send you for confirmation first before arranging shipment. We have a 7-15 day delivery capability and a daily production capacity of 100,000 pieces. Our products have been sold in 65 countries around the world, and we can help you avoid mistakes in packaging labels and transportation requirements in different destination countries.

Progress is visible. One-on-one tracking, "raw material preparation, launch, assembly, packaging, inspection" each node is photographed synchronously, you can take pictures at any time and get immediate feedback. You don't need to rely on "prompting" to obtain information; when the node arrives, you will automatically receive photos.

IX. Eight Step | After-Sales Service and Iteration: Order Delivery Is Not the End, but the Beginning of a Long-Term Partnership

We proactively follow up after shipment. Rather than waiting for you to file a complaint, we take the initiative to ask: Has the shipment arrived? Is the packaging damaged? What is the feedback from end users? If there are any issues, we immediately investigate and resolve them, and make targeted improvements for the next batch.

How does iteration happen? Products from long-term clients are rarely finalized in a single iteration. Once the first version starts selling well, the next steps typically involve adding features (wireless charging, heating, RGB lighting, or magnetic attachments—all customizable on demand), changing materials, adjusting dimensions, or modifying packaging. Because we retain sample samples, molds, and complete parameter records, repeat orders don’t have to start from scratch—we only modify the specific item you request.

We don’t engage in short-term transactions. Consistent quality and reliable delivery have helped us build a base of long-term, loyal customers with high repeat purchase rates—which is why we offer “unlimited revisions” during the prototyping phase. Our design team also tracks the latest market trends to provide guidance when you’re unsure about which style to choose; our gaming mats support bundled customization, allowing you to get everything you need—mats and accessories—all in one place.
